Reflection Paper in Sociology
This was written for Sociology class. The question was, Does the government owe it to us to keep the American Dream alive?
The American Dream
The American Dream section of the book really pissed me off. I grew up believing in the American Dream; it is truly that, just a dream. The only way to believe in The American Dream is to be asleep. When I say asleep, I mean that you cannot dig below the surface of anything and still believe in the mirage. I worked 20 years for XXXXXX. I was 10 years away from retirement and everything was taken away from me. I was not caught unprepared; I have studied the powers that be since I was about 15 years old. I watched the Iran Contra scandal with disgust. I watched them make a hero out of Ollie North for running drugs in and out of Mena Arkansas to fund the Nicaraguan rebels. I watched them push Bill Clinton, who was governor of Arkansas at the time, all the way to the Whitehouse.

I watched them push Bill Clinton, who was governor of Arkansas at the time, all the way to the Whitehouse.
I watched Al Gore; a Democrat cast the deciding vote on NAFTA, which totally killed our manufacturing base. Then GATT was passed, driving the final nail in the coffin of the auto industry. I see China given most favored nation trading status with their terrible record of human rights. I see trade barriers come down, which benefits only the Wal-Marts of the world. Mom and Pop businesses cannot compete with Wal-Mart, and they go under as well. We are supposed to compete in a global marketplace with workers who make on average .13 cents per hour. I see my country flooded with illegal immigrants which drive the wages down even farther. I see both political parties systematically destroying my country. Anyone who stands against it: John Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., James Trafficant, Ross Perot, or Ron Paul, is criticized, imprisoned, or worse.
Don’t even get me started about the Machiavellian tactics that are used to control the people. We could talk about 9-11, Oklahoma City, Waco, Ruby Ridge, or the USS Liberty, but that would get me labeled. I am a political atheist, I’ve seen too much. The materialistic American dream is dead. Suppose you work hard, and get that great paying job, when it is all said and done, what do you own? I mean OWN outright, that cannot legally be taken away from you? I urge you to get out the deed to your home and property; you will find yourself listed as a tenant, not an owner. Your car, even if paid off, is not yours. You do not get the title; what you get is a Certificate of Title, which is only proof that a title exists. The State owns your car, that’s why you need their permission to drive it on their roads. That is also why, if you do not pay personal property taxes on “your” car, they can come get it. They own it! Only an owner can legally remove property! If you do not pay “your” property tax, “your” property will be sold on the courthouse steps, and the proceeds used to settle the tax debt.
I do not write this as an angry or disgruntled citizen. I am aware of the machinations of power and deceit, but I am emotionally unaffected by them. My treasures are not shiny things; my treasure can be found in the smile of one of my children, or in the loving embrace of my wife. My pleasures are simple. I like to get my hands in the dirt, care for my gardens, and tend to my chickens, dogs, and guineas. I live simply. I threw my television away 10 years ago. Madison Avenue advertising executives are not invited into my home to tell me or my family how inadequate I am, or how my wife needs to weigh 100 lbs, or my kids need to look or act like a thug or a tramp. The materialistic American Dream was never the intent of our founding fathers; the dream was freedom to pursue happiness, not to pursue shiny things.
The book asked if the government has the obligation to keep the American Dream alive for people of lower classes. Did the government owe it to Gandhi, or was he a success in spite of them. Did the government owe it to MLK or did the people force the government to change? The question “Does the government owe it to the lower classes to keep the American dream alive” pisses me off. How can you call someone lower class because they have less money? Since when does money equal success? Was Mother Teresa a failure? Why have we let the Madison Avenue advertising executives determine who is successful, or beautiful, or desirable?
The most beautiful women in the world are the ones that have no idea that they are beautiful. It is not the ones who look like the airbrushed cover of some magazine, some bimbo with plastic tits, fake hair, Botox, fake eyelashes, face paint, and two brain cells fighting for control. Damn television, they call it “programming” for a reason. This is done to make you feel pathetic, and small, like you have no power. As if you need to go buy some trinket or shiny thing so you will feel better about yourself. A new diet perhaps, some hair color, Viagra, A sports car, hair replacement, depression medication, refinance perhaps, the list is endless. Those who chase those things are never happy; there will always be something new to be chased, a new fashion or fad to be followed.
The American Dream for me, is being a good husband and father, and having a stable, loving, family life for my son and daughter. I don’t give a rat’s rectum if they travel in a covered wagon, or a Cadillac, and neither do they! What is the American Dream to you? That would be a much better question than asking if the government, whose sole job is to crush dreams, owes it to us to keep it alive. No, we owe it to ourselves to keep it alive within all of us. If you are a good seed you will bloom wherever you are planted. I`ve seen flowers grow through cracks in concrete, government be damned! My job as a father is to produce good seeds that can bloom wherever they are planted. That is my only goal. I do not care if they are brain surgeons or work for the sewer dept; once again, it is not about how many shiny things you can buy. It is about how few truly valuable things that you miss in your life. Your life consist of a dash between two dates, what you do with it is up to you!
If you are willing to accept the fact that shiny things have no real value, then you can do something truly remarkable with your life. As long as you feel the need to chase “things” you will never be satisfied. My American dream remains alive, even after losing a job of twenty years, and my pension. It is just stuff, it doesn’t matter. My kids still smile just as big, the sun still comes up in the morning, and my wife still completes me. I am living my dream, government be damned! I think we owe it to ourselves to try and reach the Post-conventional level that Kohlberg talked about. It is not hard to transcend governments and laws today. America tortures, and is involved in two unjust wars with the help of an “anti-war” president who was brought to you with all the illusion and hype of Madison Avenue. Can we not do better than this, or is the real American dream dead as well?
A paper on Social Issues For Eng Comp 101
The Federal Reserve
One of the most important social issues of our time is the actions of the Federal Reserve. I am sure that most people do not even consider the Federal Reserve in their day to day lives, but they should. The Federal Reserve is responsible for basically all credit that flows through our monetary system and the interest that is paid on it. Most people think that the Federal Reserve is a government agency that prints our money, they are wrong on both counts. The Federal Reserve is no more Federal than Federal Express, yet they wield more power than any agency of the US government. They are effectively above the law they answer to no-one (Greenspan).
Congress established the first Bank of the United States in 1791, at the urging of Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton. The bank was granted a twenty year charter. During this twenty year span the bank became the largest corporation in America. Many Americans became wary of a large central bank and the charter was not renewed in 1811. By 1816 the political climate had begun to change, and once again, Congress voted to authorize a central bank by a narrow margin. (Federal Reserve).

Andrew Jackson, a Democrat, ran on a platform of shutting down the central bank in the 1824 election, and although he got the most electoral votes, he was denied the presidency by the House of Representatives. The presidential election of 1828 was hotly contested. This race was a rematch between John Q. Adams, and Andrew Jackson. The central bank was the theme of the 1828 election; Andrew Jackson vowed to kill the bank if elected. He was elected by a wide margin getting 178 electoral votes to Adams eighty three (US History).
Andrew Jackson paid off the debt to the central bank and in 1836 its’ charter expired. Congress had voted to reauthorize the banks charter in 1832, but true to his word, Andrew Jackson vetoed it. This was one of the most controversial moves of his presidency, and the one that he was the proudest of. His veto message to Congress explained his reasons for vetoing the measure (Americanization Dept V.F.W). After his two terms in office, he was asked what he thought his greatest accomplishment was. He replied without hesitation, “I killed the bank.” The central bank would not rise again in his lifetime, Jackson died in 1845. The central bank was dead until 1913 (Federal Reserve).
Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 into law which effectively gave the bankers control of the United States once again. The Federal Reserve is neither Federal nor does it have a reserve. It is a collection of private banks which operate for profit at the expense of the American people. The Federal Reserve is also unconstitutional. Article One, Section Eight of the United States Constitution clearly states, “The Congress shall have power to coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures” (Congress). Congress does not have the right to delegate that authority to someone else. The Constitution also states in Article one, section ten, “No state shall enter into any treaty, alliance, or confederation; grant letters of marque and reprisal; coin money; emit bills of credit; make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts; pass any bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law impairing the obligation of contracts, or grant any title of nobility” (Congress).
The last president to attempt to free the American People from the central bankers was John F. Kennedy. On June 04, 1963 John F. Kennedy signed executive order 11110 which effectively ripped the money powers away from the Federal Reserve. This executive order no longer allowed them to lend money to the United States at interest. This also paved the way for silver certificates to be issued against bullion in the treasury, and to coin silver dollars (Kennedy). Kennedy was killed by the ever present “lone nut” five months later. No president since Kennedy has had the testicular fortitude to try anything like that again. The American people are starting to wake up to the dealings of the Federal Reserve. The bailouts that were recently handed out by both the Bush and Obama administrations have cause several people to question the money powers behind the office of President. Profits by corporations are privatized, losses are socialized. This effectively puts wealth in fewer and fewer hands until all real wealth is concentrated at the top, the burden of losses are shared among the masses at the bottom.
During the 2008 presidential campaign Ron Paul ran on fiscal responsibility and sound monetary policy. He has sponsored a bill in the House of Representatives known as The Federal Reserve Transparency Act, HR 1207, to audit the Federal Reserve which now has over 300 co-sponsors. The companion bill in the Senate has thirty co-sponsors (Tadlock). People are starting to demand accountability. Any time people get involved with their government it is a good thing. Americans need to read the bills, not just listen to the rhetoric and that is starting to happen. One of the main problems with a central bank is the fact that the money is just printed on paper; it is not backed by anything. Central banks can cause inflation, deflation, recessions or depressions whenever they choose to by simply increasing the money supply, or restricting credit. The Federal Reserve caused The Great Depression. This fact was admitted by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke in a 2002 speech (Board).
The value of a Federal Reserve Dollar is worth exactly zero. It is a debt instrument backed by the “the full faith and credit of the US Government.” That means simply, that the US Dollar is given legitimacy by the government's ability to levy taxes or borrow from a separate entity like the Federal Reserve, or a foreign government. The dollar is a Federal Reserve Accounting Unit Device, or a FRAUD as it is commonly known in some circles. Dollars once backed by gold, now rely on state sponsored intimidation by the IRS or the military (Hicks). There have been far too many dollars printed and posted electronically for the U.S. market to use them all. Dollars must be bought by foreign investors and governments to prevent hyperinflation. One needs to dig deeper to find the answer as to why other nations would back our dollar.
Why would China effectively back the U.S. Dollar? Why would the European nations? When I mentioned earlier that one needs to “dig deeper”, perhaps drill, not dig, would have been a better euphemism. Henry Kissinger, while Nixon’s Secretary of State, went to OPEC, and offered them a deal. They agreed to conduct all oil sales in US dollars; in return they would get to name their price for the oil without interference by the US (Gale Group). The catch was that a percentage of the proceeds went to US banks and government debt-instruments such as bonds. Oil sales in dollars became known as petrodollars. This guaranteed a demand for the US dollar that was otherwise unattractive to foreign investors. Foreign countries had to have US Dollars to buy oil. This allowed the Federal Reserve to inflate the currency without fear of higher inflation at home (NixonTapes.org). Why would oil producing countries agree to sell their only real asset to a foreign country in exchange for depreciating dollars that continue to buy fewer and fewer goods and services on the world market?
Intimidation is the answer, this is not opinion. It is fact. The October 31, 2000 headline in The Irish Times revealed the nature of the threat that Iraq posed to America “Euro takes heart as Iraq turns from the dollar.” (Sutter). Iraq would be invaded in March of 2003. Kissinger later admitted the Iraq attack was about oil (Watson). The original name for the planned invasion was Operation Iraqi Liberation; I guess the acronym of OIL was too much even for the neo-conservatives. Hugo Chavez announced in 2000, his intention to sell his oil in Euros. Within months there was a coup attempt against him. A documentary entitled The Revolution Will Not Be Televised makes a pretty strong case that our CIA was involved. The documentary can be seen in its entirety on Google Video. Iran announced its intention to launch an oil bourse in February of 2008. Iran’s plan was to use a basket of currencies to sell its oil, that basket would not include the US Dollar (Fars News Agency ). Iran has since started doing just that, and the United States is threatening military action against them as well. The dollar is under severe pressure from China. China, the largest purchaser of US Dollars, must now sell Dollars and purchase Euros in order to satisfy their energy needs. The shockwaves of this action are being felt around the world.
Ron Paul gave a speech entitled The End of Dollar Hegemony before the House of Representatives in February 2006. This speech stripped the mystery from United States foreign policy. Ron Paul said “The agreement with OPEC in the 1970s to price oil in dollars has provided tremendous artificial strength to the dollar as the preeminent reserve currency. Most importantly, the dollar/oil relationship has to be maintained to keep the dollar as a preeminent currency. Any attack on this relationship will be forcefully challenged – as it already has been. In November 2000 Saddam Hussein demanded Euros for his oil. His arrogance was a threat to the dollar; though there was no evidence whatsoever he posed a threat to us. In 2001, Venezuela’s ambassador to Russia spoke of Venezuela switching to the Euro for all their oil sales. Within a year there was a coup attempt against Chavez, reportedly with assistance from our CIA. Now, a new attempt is being made against the petrodollar system. Iran, another member of the ‘axis of evil’, has announced her plans to initiate an oil bourse in March of this year. Guess what, the oil sales will be priced in Euros, not dollars” (Paul).
If one listens carefully they can hear the rattling of sabers in the distance. If they look closely, they can read the writing on the wall. The Federal Reserve is a social issue whether Americans realize it or not. The Federal Reserve determines the interest rate that is paid for housing, car loans and credit cards. Every dime that Americans spend is tied directly to the Federal Reserve. It is within the powers of the Federal Reserve to cause recessions, depressions, booms and busts. It is within the law for them to profit from these booms and busts. Can these banksters be trusted? Should men with a simple printing press be allowed to buy up the world? Perhaps they really are just friendly benevolent bankers. Perhaps the Great Wizard of Oz really will give out a heart, some brains, and some courage. Americans might be better off if someone just barks and pulls back the curtain on the great wizard, unless of course one thinks that it is in our best interest to “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.”

The College Experience
I am leaving out the first few pages of this paper, but here is the relevant part.
I am supposed to put something in here about what strategies my instructors could employ in order to better assist my learning, but to me that is stupid. It is up to me to adapt to whatever is thrown at me, it is not the instructors’ job to change their tactics to suit me. No employer is going to change his company’s long term goals or short term strategies for me. I have been in the workforce long enough to know that.
To me that is largely what college is about. College is not so much about what you learn or do not learn, it is about answering one question. Will you conform? Will you take something as pointless as a College 101 class and actually trudge through the work no matter how pointless or stupid that it is? Employers, like governments, want conformity. They are going to have their own way of doing things once they hire you anyway. Companies are wheels, and wheels need spokes, all the same length, nothing outstanding about any of them. College is about showing an employer that yes indeed, I am a conformist. I will fit your wheel. I can be a spoke. I will sell my soul out for money. I will fit your mold. I will submit. I will do what I am told. I am smart enough to do the paperwork or run the machine, and dumb enough to do it for less than I am worth. I will passively accept fewer benefits, and a pension that will be looted by corrupt CEO's before I can collect it.
I will make a commitment to you and your success, while you treat me like a “human resource”. You can show your degree with pride and say, “I have been doing pointless and stupid things for years, and doing them quite well. I have proof, here is my degree.”

I'm Coming Back
I stopped posting on this blog a while back, but I'm feeling the urge to get back into it. I will not post as heavily as I did before, but occasionally I will add something to this blog. I didn't think I would have time to do this but Midterms are in and I got a 4.0
I will try and post parts of some of the papers that I have turned in. When I get assigned a paper, I usually view it as an opportunity to rail against the system. There is definitely a liberal bias at the college, but so far I have not met any real resistance to my papers. Some of them have been met with a private Hell Yes! The tide is turning folks, we are winning!

By: No Name ( hidden for his safety)
During my twelve years service as a Judge, I always insisted on the truth and placed
justice above law and order! I could have prepared this article indicia of a research
paper however; people tend to lose interest when articles of this nature become too
technical...
justice above law and order! I could have prepared this article indicia of a research
paper however; people tend to lose interest when articles of this nature become too
technical...
If your life on earth resembles a Matrix, it is because you’re seeing things for the
first time, with eyes wide open, but you feel confused! That feeling of confusion is
appropriate because the information you are now digesting, contradicts much of the
information you have been spoon fed throughout your life! I named this paper after
the movie “The Matrix,” written by the Wachowsi brothers. After reading this,
watch the movie and you will notice many similarities.
In 2002, my brother ran into a problem with the IRS and to help him out, I began to
research the Tax Code. One thing led to another and suddenly I was uncovering
information about our government, which was directly in conflict with the U. S.
Constitution and what I have been led to believe throughout my life. In time I began
to interface with people from every state in the Republic, who was doing the same
thing I was doing; some for the same reason and others for different reasons. We
began to trade our research and the facts I uncovered was totally in contradiction to
the history of America, which had been taught to us in public school and the
principals of law, I had absorbed during my service as a Judge. I began to assist
people to prepare and file suits in the courts and I filed several of my own. At one
point, because of the information I’m about to provide to you; I became extremely
depressed. After about three months, I eventually shook it off and continued on with
my research.
My hope in writing this is to help you, the reader, make sense of it all, which will
require you to wash your mind clean of the brainwashing you were subjected to by
our government, our government controlled public schools and church’s and reeducate
yourself. When you understand the actions, the reactions will make sense,
and it should anger you! Eventually, you will have a choice to make; a choice that
will define: “How to survive life in, The Matrix?” In ‘The Matrix’ nothing is real
however, your mind has been conditioned to believe it is real! The Matrix is far too
big to defeat; no one can escape it, and we haven’t the means or intelligence to beat
those in control! Through my research, I discovered that America is a society of
functional illiterates! I remind you that this is not my opinion, I’m just the
messenger!
Webmaster Commentary:
Matrix Quote- Morpheus: This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

This is my last post on this blog. I am leaving the archives up in the hopes that you will make use of them. I have tried my best to post the stories that I think are the most revealing of our condition today. I honestly feel like all the information that anyone needs to wake up is out there and readily available to you. I do not see any reason to keep banging away at this keyboard, either you want to wake up, or you don't. There is much to do, and my time can be better spent elsewhere. I will leave you with a list of websites that I regularly read, this is not to say that I believe that everything that you need can be found here, or even that these websites go far enough, but if you read things and you want to know more, use any search engine, You will be amazed at what you will find.
Do not expect anyone you hear on radio or TV to tell you the whole truth about anything.
Do not wait for truth to be dropped in your lap, Go and find your own!
Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.
The Matrix is a system. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Introduction
The National Police Misconduct Statistics and Reporting Project utilizes news media reports of police misconduct to generate statistical information in an effort to approximate how prevalent police misconduct may be in the United States.
As part of this project, reported incidents of misconduct are aggregated into a news feed on Twitter and added into an off-line database where duplicate entries and updates are removed and remaining unique stories are categorized for statistical information in monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports here on this site.
To view reports from other months, refer to the Police Misconduct Statistics menu item located on the top menu bar. To view raw data of the reports covered each month from which our data is derived, refer to the Police Misconduct Databases menu item at the top of the site.
